Emidio Pesce started well his Formula Regional European Championship campaign at Misano, in the first of the three races scheduled this weekend. The 18-year-old DR Formula racing driver claimed a best P7, but likely missed a podium finish.
After setting the eight quickest lap in yesterday’s first qualifying, in Race 1 Pesce made a regular start. A very first lap contact put out polesitter Leclerc and Petecof to let the Italian to recover sixth. Entually he tried hard to defend his posision from Vips and Petecof. After a second safety car period Pesce moved up to fifth, but a late incident with Henrion prevented him to take at last a top-5 finish.
Pesce had a tough start in Race 2, moving down to the back of the field, but the tire consumption put him out of the top-10.
Tomorrow Race 3 will start at 10,50, live televised at Motorsport.tv.
