Edoardo Morricone passed with flying colours in the last round of the F4 UAE calendar. In Dubai the young DR Formula racing driver continued the good string after his positive debut in the Abu Dhabi event last January – where he finished twice in seventh – and the most recent Vallelunga testing.
At the Emirates’ circuit, Morricone started the weekend showing well in qualifying 1, setting the third quickest lap in the very last minutes before moving down to the sixth place, only seven tenth from the pole position.
In the first Friday’s race, the Italian was able to recover fourth. Eventually he lost three positions to finish seventh. He did better in Race 2, taking the fifth place after a flying last lap with Lucas Alecco Roy, ahead of David Schumacher.
Morricone did a great job on Saturday, finishing fourth in Race 3 and narrowly missing the podium, as he was third with only three laps to che chequered flag.
Starting from the first row in the last race, the 16-year-old Abruzzo based racer claimed the fifth final place.
Now driver and team are focused on the Italian F4 championship that kicks off on 21/22 April at the Adria track.
