After making a Formula Regional European Championship winning debut in the first race of the weekend at Imola, rookie driver Ian Rodriguez ended well for DR Formula the seventh and penultimate round of the 2020 season.
In race two the 20-year-old Guatemala’s racer claimed another podium finish. Starting from the second row of the grid, Rodriguez moved to the third and – after the Arthur Leclerc stop – he took the second place that maintained till the chequered flag.
In race three Rodriguez started from the second row again. Eventually he spun, moving to the back of the filed to finish ninth.
In the same race Emidio Pesce made a stong recovery from ninth to seventh, fighting with the series’ stars. The young Italian proved once more he did great progress.
Next commitment for DR Formula will be this week at the Vallelunga track, in the two test-days that will mark the return to Formula 4 for the Danilo Rossi‘s team.
The last round of Formula Regional is scheduled for 5th/6th December at the same venue.
