DR Formula’s Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth campaing resumes this coming weekend after the Summer break, as the single-seater series heads to Imola for the fifth out of seven rounds of the season.
After the fruitful test held a few days ago at the Santerno’s track, the team led by Danilo Rossi is set for a new face aiming at a top result fielding three cars for Artem Petrov, Aldo Festante and Felipe Branquino.
The first one – who recently made a good debut in the German ADAC F4, claiming a top ten finish at the Nürburgring Grand Prix track – takes the fifth place in the overall standings with a 44-point gap from the lead. The 17-year old Russian racer claimed six podiums so far, included the third place he achieved in the most recent race at Mugello.
Italian Festante is looking to bounce back after a poor weekend in Tuscany last July. The 17-year-old from Capua showed well, expecially at the Adria and Vallelunga round two and three.
His team mate Branquinho is continuing his way making big progress. Brazilian driver – who contests the Italian F4 Championship for the first time this season – took a best second place in the Rookie class at Mugello.
This weekend’s action at Imola gets underway with the two 30-minute free practice sessions and the qualifying on Friday. The first of three 28-minute plus one lap races begins at 12:05 on Saturday. Race two and three begin at 8:15 and 17:00 on Sunday, all live streamed at www.acisport.it.
