DR Formula ended an almost good weekend at Misano, where youngster Emidio Pesce made his Formula Regional European Championship debut for the team led by Danilo Rossi.
The 18-year-old Milan-based racing driver set the eight and ninth fastest time in the two qualifying sessions to finish seventh in Saturday’s Race one, targeting to the top-four before having a contact with Gillian Henrion. Eventually he also finished fifth in the Rookie class.
Pesce had less good fortune in the other two races, particularly in the last one he finished after a couple of laps.
“It was a strange weekend, that marked my track return in a race following almost a one-year break”, Pesce commented. “We expected something more, but this was only the first round of a very long season. I am pretty confident we can do better”.
After a three-week break, the second round of the series will be held at the Le Castellet circuit on 22/23 August, the same track where Pesce completed some tests early this year.
Meanwhile team DR Formula is set to hit again the track this week for two more test-days in Austria, at Spielberg, that will host the third out of eight rounds on mid-September.
