One and a half month after Igor Omura Fraga claimed his first victory at the Red Bull Ring track, DR Formula by RP Motorsport is set for the fifth of eight rounds of the Formula Regional Championship as the European series resumes next weekend (30 August/1 September), after the summer break, at Imola.
The team led by Danilo Rossi and Fabio Pampado fields two Tatuus cars, one of them for the 20-year-old Brazilian driver. Fraga – who topped the official testing hosted by the Italian circuit late last July – has three additional podiums and now lies fourth in the standings, 10 points shy of third placed David Schumacher.
His team-mate Raul Guzman has also shown a great pace this season, but is still searching for his first win. Mexican racer dilivered one of his best weekends in Austria as he finished fourth in race three.
At the same Imola track, DR Formula by RP Motorsport is also set for its return to the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, entering a car for newcomer Santiago Ramos Reynoso. Mexican youngster makes his single-seater debut after showing well in the recent tests.
Action at Imola gets underway on Friday with the free practice sessions followed by the Formula Regional and Italian F4 qualifying. Race one of both series will start on Saturday, at 17pm and 18pm. Race two and three of the Formula Regional Championship are scheduled for Sunday at 11.25am and 16.40pm. Italian F4 race two will start at 12.20pm followed by race three 17.40pm.
