DR Formula by RP Motorsport ended the Formula Regional European Championship season with a historic one-two finish at Monza, as Igor Omura Fraga and Raul Guzman secured this morning the top spots of the podium at the end of a wet second race. It let the squad led by Danilo Rossi and Fabio Pampado to take the second place in the Teams’ standings, completing the 2019 season in the best way.
After taking a triple pole position in the Friday’s qualifying and claiming a clear victory in race one, Fraga did it again. The 21-year-old Brazilian driver took the lead at the light, to increase his advantage setting the fastest lap. His team-mate Guzman, from his part made an impressive start from fourth to second and then defended his position from reigning champion Frederik Vesti to secure his second consecutive overall podium after finishing third in race one.
In race three Fraga ended on P3 claiming another podium. Guzman showed well again to finish fifth. In the Drivers’ standings Fraga took the P3, just six points behind his country-fellow Enzo Fittipaldi.
In the Italian F4 Championship, DR Formula by RP Motorsport’s driver Santiago Ramos continued his apprenticeship, taking a best P19 in the second race after finishing 24th on Saturday.
