Emidio Pesce completed an un and down weekend at the Mugello circuit for DR Formula, in fourth of eight Formula Regional European Championship rounds.
The Italian racing driver started with a disappointing P11 and P10 in the two qualifying sessions, in different weather conditions.
Pesce then ended prematurely a rain-affected Saturday’s race one, after he slithered into the at seventh of 14 laps.
Different story on Sunday, when he survived a chaotic race two, with wet, dry and wet again. In this tricky situation Pesce didn’t make any mistakes and secured the eight position that was his best placement over the weekend.
In race three Pesce showed good pace, fighting with Gillian Henrion and, once he passed the Frenchman, trying to reach the Jamie Laura Chadwick’s car despite the short time to the chequered flag. Eventually the DR Formula’s driver finished ninth.
“I struggled a lot with the rain as I haven’t so much experience with this car on the wet track. Better it was in race three, that was held in dry conditions”, Pesce commented. “Next round will be at Monza, my home track. I’ll try to do my best there”.
After a two-week break, the Formula Regional European Championship fifth round will get underway at the Italian track on 17th/18th October.
