DR Formula continued its preparation for the European Formula Regional start scheduled at Misano on early August.
The squad led by Danilo Rossi completed another test at Imola fielding two cars for young newcomer Emidio Pesce and Matteo Nannini, the last one present only Friday.
Nannini impressed once more, setting the second best in 1:39.262. The 16-year-old Italian driver, who already topped in the test-days at Misano one week ago, lapped just one tenth of a second slower than the quickest time, although he focused on a race simulation in the afternoon and couldn’t further improve with the last set of new tires due to a Full Course Yellow.
Pesce, who turned 18 last March, is set to make his Formula Regional debut. He was constantly among the fastest too, taking more confidence with the car.
“Everything went quite well. Imola is a fantastic, fast and technical track. These two days were very important to learn my Tatuus before the season start”, Pesce commented. “Almost all the teams and drivers entered the test and it was very useful to know the exact level of the series”.
“I made a good job in the morning, before making some setup changing. Eventually I made a race simulation in the afternoon”, Nannini added “I could complete 70 laps in total and I am fully satisfied”.
The next commitment for DR Formula is scheduled for 1/2 July again at Misano with Pesce.
