Rossi, from the town of Altari in Italy’s Lazio region, started his career in the world of competitive motorsport at the very young age of 8. He was doing exceptionally well straight away, taking various prestigious awards with him as his career progressed. This arguably reached a whole new level when Danilo won his first World Karting championship at just 16 years old. This success was not short lived for Danilo however, having achieved the ultimate goal of winning the World Championship between the years of 1992 and 1999.
In parallel with Karting, Rossi also competed in F3 with Italian teams between 1993 and 1995, and even took part in the prestigious F3000 championship in 2000.
After his long and celebrated stint on the race track, Danilo shifted his attention to the management aspect of motorsport. He became team manager for the CRG team until 2008. During this period, Rossi worked with plenty of successful drivers, some of which made it as far as Formula 1. Danilo took things a step further in 2008, by founding DR Racing Kart which saw him involved in the design and building of bespoke karts with a market in Europe, Asia as well as the United States.
Danilo’s experience also extended to the planning, design and homologation of karting race tracks, with the realisation of the Kartòdromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal. He was subsequently asked to form part of the highly respected “FIA Drivers Commission”.
