Le Castellet, 26 May 2021
Following a very tough weekend in Monaco ended with the Race 2 start crash that costed an early stop to Brad Benavides and also involved his team-mate Emidio Pesce, DR Formula is ready to bounce back at the Paul Ricard track.
The French circuit is set to host this weekend (29/30 May) the fourth round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine alongside the GT World Challenge Europe 1000 Km race.
Pesce will continue his apprenticeship. The 19-year-old Italian already raced at the Paul Ricard last year taking two P11 finishes. The American Benavides, who claimed a best P12 at Barcelona, had a bit taste of the French track in 2019 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. Moreover both Pesce and Benavides completed two official test days at the Paul Ricard last March.
Action this week will start on Friday with the collective tests. Qualifying 1 will commence on Saturday at 8.30 with the first of two 30-minute plus one lap races scheduled at 14.20. Qualifying 2 get underway on Sunday at 9, with the second race start at 14.30. Both races will be live streamed on official Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine YouTube channel.
