DR Formula begins in good style the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine round at Monaco. The third event of the series, scheduled in the same weekend of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, started this morning with the two splitted qualifying due to the traffic with a 33-car strong grid.
Brad Benavides – who set a best P12 in the most recent meeting at Barcelona, showed well. The 19-year-old American racer secured a top-10 finish in the second group that let him to start from the ninth row in tomorrow’s Race 1 and Sunday’s Race 2.
A bit more difficult it was for Emidio Pesce. The Italian – who has never raced on this track differently from his team-mate who entered an European Formula Renault race in 2019, paid his inexperience and made a spin.
As a result of that, Pesce missed the qualifying for Race 1, whilst in the Sunday’s Race 2 – when Benavides will start on P18, he will be in the back of the field.
Race 1 will commence tomorrow at 10.15. Race 2 is scheduled on Sunday at 11.50. Both races will be live streamed on official YouTube.
