Raul Guzman ended a superb season last weekend at the Paul Ricard circuit. The Mexican racing driver – who made this year his Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe debut with DR Management claiming a victory in Misano opener with team-mate Miloš Pavlović in a Target Racing machinery – was one of the Pro class title contenders in the last race.
The French round was not lucky for Guzman and Pavlović, the former third in qualifying 1 and then close to the podium finish alongside Mexican driver, who was stopped in the final lap due to a technical issue.
Things went better in Race 2, when Guzman started from P7 completing a great stint before he handed over to Pavlović, who finished fifth. This result joins four podium finishes in the first two rounds – a victory and second position at Misano, and a second and third at the Nürburgring.
After that a difficult weekend followed at Barcelona, ahead of the big shunt at Spa in a frightening Race 2. However Guzman recovered well to take the start at the Paul Ricard last weekend.
Eventually Guzman, who is one of the Young Drivers of Lamborghini Squadra Corse Program, could celebrate with Target Race the Team’s title. Next step is the GT3 debut, scheduled for the next year.
