DR FORMULA BY RP MOTORSPORT CELEBRATES DOUBLE POLE POSITION AT THE FORMULA REGIONAL EUROPEAN FINALE IN MONZA

DR Formula by RP Motorsport dominated both qualifying sessions today, as the Formula Regional European Championship weekend kicked off at the Monza circuit.

After setting the best time in this morning free practice, Igor Omura Fraga secured the pole position for race one and two. The 21-year-old Brazilian driver set 1:46.581 in Q1 to beat Championship leader Frederik Vesti by 479 milliseconds. Fraga then improved further in Q2, setting the quickest lap-time in 1:46.023. With the second best time, Fraga secured the pole position also for race three.

His team-mate Raul Guzman showed also well and put the #41 DR Formula by RP Motorsport’s car on the second row. Mexican racer ended on P3 the first qualifying, to finish fourth in Q2 when he was one of the six drivers to lap under 1:47.

At the same track, Guzman’s country-fellow Santiago Ramos made a great improvement in the Italian F4 powered by Abarth Championship.Entering his thirdevent in the category, the 15-year-old driver finished on P22 in the first qualifying.

The first of three 30-minute plus one lap Formula Regional races will start tomorrow at 13.20, followed by race one of the Italian F4 Championship at 14.20 pm. Formula Regional race two and three are scheduled on Sunday at 9.25 am and 15.30 pm. Italian F4 race two and three will start at 10.20 am and 16.30 pm.
