Igor Omura Fraga started the Formula Regional European Championship seasonwith two podium finishes, as he claimed today the 3rd place in the first two races of the certified by FIA series around the 5,821 meters Paul Ricard Grand Prix Circuit.
DR Formula by RP Motorsport driver set the fourth quickest time in Qualifying 1, moving up to second at the beginning of Race one, eventually loosing one position in the very last lap when he was passed by Enzo Fittipaldi.
The 20-year-old Brazilian-Japanese racer started Race two from the second row of the grid to take the third place again as a result of the Olli Caldwell disqualification due the non-compiance of his car – the Briton’s team has lodged an appeal.
At the French venue Fraga’s team mate Raul Guzman scored importan points too. After being slowed down by mechanical problem in the qualifying, the Mexican took the fifth and the fourth position. Guzman, who was the fastest in Friday’s Free Practice 1, showed a good pace the whole weekend.
