DR Formula by RP Motorsport is set for the Formula Regional European Championship 2019 challenge. The brand-new series “certified by FIA” kicks off this coming weekend at the Gran Prix F1 circuit of Paul Ricard.

In France the Italian team fields two cars for regular drivers Igor Omura Fraga and Raul Guzman, targeting a successful start.

The 20-year-old Japanese-borned Brazilian racer Fraga – a F3 Brazil Champion, winner of the McLaren Shadow Project and member of the eSports Formula One development programme – makes his European debut.

Guzman, a 19-year-old Mexican driver with a four-year experience in single-seater,

makes his return to the team now led by Danilo Rossi and Fabio Pampado, having already raced with it in F4 Italy during the seasons 2014 and 2015.

Both drivers are very confident for the inaugural round of the series. Guzman had a strong pre-season where excellent progress has been made with the car, whilst Fraga is considered to be one of the fastest drivers in the field.

Free practice ahead of the opening round of the Formula Regional European Championship season will take place at 9.00 and 13.35 on Friday, with the two Qualifying sessions following at 16.25 and 16.50.

The first of the three 30-minute plus one lap races starts on Saturday morning at 10.50, followed by Race two at 14.55. The third race is scheduled on Sunday at 9.50.
