DR Formula’s Artem Petrov made an impressive debut last weekend in the ADAC F4 championship at the Nürburgring Grand Prix track, as he claimed a top ten finish in race three.
The 17-year-old Russian driver showed a strong potential, setting the 14th fastest time in the qualifying, only three tenths slower than the polesitter. In Saturday’s race one, Petrov took the 12th place despite a safety car period and a red flag that prevented him from recovering more positions.
Due to a ten-place grid penalty for a previous accident, Petrov started race two from P24. Eventually he moved up 22th before another red flag came out for the Cédric Piro’s crash after the seventh lap and the race was not restarted.
In the third and last race of the weekend, the Russian youngster stayed with the lead group and claimed P10, completing a challenging but positive weekend for him and the team.
The Nürburgring round bodes well for the last event of the series that will be held at Hockenheim on 22th-24th September, two weeks after the next Italian round at Imola.
